Valentine’s Day Present Obsession: Discussing a Watch Present

Hear-shaped postcards, sweets, perfume and jewelery are the most popular presents for Valentine’s Day. Watches are not among favorite options, though some people use to present them as a lovely accessory for a girl or a necessary thing for a man. Roberta Naas did a great job on analyzing watches presents and picked up seven of them as the most appropriate idea for Valentine’s day presents. She called them “From Diamonds to Plastic”.

Time takes on new meaning this Valentine’s Day, as people search for the perfect gift for the woman in their life. Chocolate is nice, flowers are lovely, but giving the gift of time is a truly timeless gift.

There are a host of great watches on the market in all price ranges from under $100 to under $100,000. All of them  make a great statement of love – and will have the woman in your life thinking of you every time she glances at her wrist.

Mind you, some brands still like to wrap flowers into love, so there is a touch of nature playing cupid. Nevertheless, here we bring you seven sensational watches with flower or heart motifs that are perfect on Valentine’s Day and always.

Every year, Blancpain creates a special limited edition watch in honor of Saint Valentine. This year the Blancpain Saint Valentine’s Day 2015 version features a delicately inlaid mother-of-pearl rose on the dial. The rose itself is a work of art and technical mastery, as each petal is delicately sculpted into the mother of pearl by hand to achieve depth and dimension. The white mother of pearl rose I then dyed in soft pink hue to achieve its color. The 36.8mm white gold case is outlined with 121 diamonds. The back of the watch features a transparent caseback to view the mechanical movement, complete with a pink mother-of-pearl inlay on the oscillating weight. Just 14 pieces will be made in honor of February 14—making this one very rare  timepiece. It retails for $50,360.

Another option to keep the price under $50,000 is Franck Muller. These Heart watches offer a larger take on love. The curved Cintree Curvex case gives a grand appearance. The heart motif can be direct, as in the model with the diamond heart in the center of the dial, or a bit more discreet, as in the other model. These watches retail from $26,900 to $42,00 depending on the size and version.
